This was our second holiday together and this time we went to Lindos on the island of Rhodes in Greece. This was the first time that we had been on a plane together as well. We got picked up by the taxi at 2:30am on 25th September to go to Manchester airport for a 7:00am flight. We took off at 7:30am and landed at Rhodes airport at1:15pm Rhodes time. Once we got our cases from the carousel we then went to find our coach to take us to our hotel. It took about an hour or so to get to our hotel which was the Lindos White Hotel & Suites. It wasn't the best hotel but we made it work. Once we got to the hotel and checked in, we got to our room and unpacked before going to the pool bar to get something to eat from there and then we just went back to the room to have a shower and chill out for the rest of the night as we had quite a long day and we were tired. We spent a lot of the time in the hotel just going to the Athena lounge for all our meals or having something to eat by the pool.
On Friday 27th September we had breakfast in the Athena lounge in our hotel and then we got the bus into Lindos town as we fancied doing something that didn't involve just being by the pool in our hotel. We were there for about 2 hours before we decided to get a taxi back to the hotel. We bought a couple of things from Lindos while we were there. I bought a fan and a book about Greek Mythology as well as a Poseidon tshirt and Ben bought some comfier flip flops. When we got back from Lindos we decided to spend some time by the pool. We also went to the mini market in the hotel across the road where Ben bought a towel with the map of Rhodes on and I bought a white baseball jacket with the word 'Greece' on it. We then just had a shower and went for tea in the Athena lounge and chilled for the rest of the night watching Gotham. On Saturday 28th September we had breakfast in the Athena lounge again and then went back to our room to get ready to go to the pool. We tried to keep in the shade mainly because of the sun burn on the top half of our bodies. We made friends with another couple called Andrew and Alex when we were by the pool and ended up spending time with them of the night once we'd had a shower and had our tea in the Athena lounge. We went to the pool bar after we had our tea to check out the entertainment for the night which was karaoke. I sang 'Walk Me Home' by Pink and 'Emporor's New Clothes' by Panic! At The Disco and Ben helped Andrew sing 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' by Green Day. We also joined in with a couple of the games that they were playing. Ben played musical chairs and I joined in with musical statues. On Monday 30th September we had breakfast in the Athena lounge before asking the lady at the reception desk to call us a taxi to Rhodes. When we got to Rhodes, we got dropped off in the New Town where all the shops were and walked our way into the Old Town where we saw the Ancient Stadium and the Acropolis of Rhodes. When we were in the New Town I bought another Greek Mythology book and Ben bought a map of Rhodes and a vest top with Rhodes written on it. When we were heading back into the New Town from being at the Ancient Stadium and the Acropolis, we went into Sephora where I bought Ben some Paco Rabanne Invictus deodorant spray. We then went into Pandora where I bought me a charm with the world on that spins and Ben bought me a charm that says 'Queen' on it with a dangling crown, he also got himself an Adidas gym material vest top from a sport store. When we got back to the hotel we got changed to spend a bit of time by the pool before going and having a shower and then going into the Athena lounge for tea and chilling by the pool bar for a bit and then we just chilled out in our room for the rest of the night. On Friday 4th October we had breakfast in the Athena lounge and then got the bus to Lindos town for a couple of hours. When we got to Lindos we made our way to where the Acropolis is and explored that for a while. It was amazing and so much better than the one in Rhodes. Once we left the Acropolis we went round the shops where I got 3 tshirts: a Calvin Klein one, a Hugo Boss one and one with Athena on it. Ben got a small bottle of Invictus aftershave and we both got a couple of statues of the gods. Ben got Zeus and Poseidon and I got Poseidon and Diana also known as Artemis. I also got a souvenir medallion. We got back to the hotel and just chilled by the pool and everything before we got ready for having tea in the hotel again. We stayed for the entertainment in the pool bar for a little bit as well which was bingo and they did a bit of karaoke. We didn't play bingo but we stayed for the karaoke where I went first to get it out of the way so that we could just go back to our room and chill out because we were feeling quite tired. I sang 'Marry The Night' by Lady Gaga. We didn't really do much the rest of the time other than staying in the hotel and chilling by the pool but Ben had a back and neck massage in the hotel over the road from ours as we were allowed to do that so he did that on Monday 7th October while I just chilled in the room because the weather wasn't very good the last few days of our holiday so we just stayed in our room packing and just chilling on the balcony. We flew back on Wednesday 9th October but we had breakfast in the hotel before the coach came to pick us up to take us to the airport. Once we got to the airport and checked in we found out that our flight was delayed by 40 minutes so we flew out at 3:05pm instead of 2:25pm. Once we did all the important stuff that needed to be done at the airport like security, we went to duty free where we got Ben's mom some perfume and I bought him the Paco Rabanne travel aftershave set. We then got food from Burger King and went through the final passport control to get to our gate and wait to board the plane. There were two films that I wanted to watch on the plane which were Bohemian Rhapsody and Ralph Breaks The Internet but I couldn't watch them because the sound system wasn't working in my seat so I just listened to my music instead. We landed back at Manchester airport at about 5:15pm and had to go through passport control/immigration before getting our cases. We got our cases more or less on time and then we just had to wait for the taxi to pick us up. We ended up waiting about 20 minutes to half an hour for the taxi to come as they were stuck in traffic on the M6 due to there being an accident. Once we got home we sorted out the things that were mine in Ben's case then popped back to his so he could take his stuff back and give his mom her present and then just came back to mine to chill for the rest of the night as I had to go to work the next day but we had a great time in all fairness and can't wait for our next adventure.

Just a quick post about who my favorite Youtubers are that I love watching who inspire me everyday: Gregory Gaige ^ The West Wing ^ Ellie Steadman ^ Eleanor Hawthorne ^
So I turned 24 years old this year back on 25th March which was two days after comic con. I didn't do anything for my birthday unfortunately due to the fact that i was working and it was the kind of shift where I couldn't go out for a meal with my family after I finished work to celebrate my birthday either which was a shame but that's just the way it is sometimes. I was meant to be getting my tattoo done 30th March as well but because I ended up working it meant that I had to change my tattoo date but luckily I had a day off in the week which ended up being 2 days after my birthday and I had to have it done by a different tattoo artist as well. The tattoo artist who did my tattoo said that she had always wanted to do a Disney's Treasure Planet tattoo as well and I got to give her the privilege of doing it. This one hurt a lot more than my first tattoo as well but I got through it because I've got to admit this one looks amazing. This tattoo was my birthday present to myself. Me and Ben went to our 6th Comic Con in Birmingham. It's kind of been a tradition for us since we started attending them from March 2016 when I turned 21 and we have loved it ever since. I went as a genderbent Jim Hawkins from Disney's Treasure Planet although I don't really look amazing but at least I tried and didn't have any other cosplayers putting me down for my attempt at it and Ben went as Spider-man again. We had our picture taken by a professional photographer while we were there as well which you can see in the photos above. I didn't get to take any photos with any of my favorite cosplayers either as one of my absolute favorite cosplayers couldn't attend due to not being very well which was a shame. If you have seen some of my previous blogs posts about comic con then you will probably know who I am on about. We nearly got tripped up a few times as well by a blind man dressed up as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. I got to meet three of my favorite people from the BBC One TV show Merlin: Alexander Vlahos (above photos), Tom Hopper (bottom photos) and Asa Butterfield (couldn't get a photo with him). They were all really nice people but it just would have been nice if they could have made more time to speak to the people that were queuing to meet them as I've had some fantastic meet and greets with celebrity guests at previous comic cons as they made time for the people that queued for them but I guess it was because there were a lot of people who wanted to meet these three celebrity guests this time. Can't wait for the next one now in November.
If you could go anywhere in the world with anyone, where would you go and why? Also why did you choose that person?
I would go to Egypt with my fiancé Ben because we have always said that we want to go and it would be amazing to learn about the history there; the pyramids, the temples, everything as I'm really interested in the history of Ancient Egypt. I chose my fiancé Ben because he's the only person I'd want to go travelling with as he is my best friend and my soulmate. I'd go everywhere around the world with him. If you could invite 3 people to dinner, who would you invite? And why? What would you talk about? I would invite Marilyn Monroe, Adam Lambert and Chai Hansen (Shadowhunters) because all 3 of them inspire me and amaze me in their own way. With Marilyn I would talk about her acting career as well as how she came to become a sex symbol. With Adam Lambert I would talk about all things music related and probably sing some songs together. With Chai Hansen I would talk about all things Shadowhunters with him as well as wanting to know if there will be another series for his new show The Legend of Monkey on Netflix. If you could have witnessed an event in history, which would you choose and why? I would choose to witness Marilyn Monroe in the film The Seven Year Itch when she stands on a subway grate in New York City and it blows up her dress because even though it probably would have been embarrassing she truly embraced what was happening as she was an actress and it was just part of the film but it became an iconic moment. Even though it was only part of the film, her husband at the time, Joe DiMaggio who was a baseball player for the New York Yankees, disapproved of the scene and ended up storming away from the set which then caused Marilyn to file for divorce when she returned to California on the grounds of 'mental cruelty' following a violent fight at their hotel after the shoot. So I'm going to start this blog off with one of the things that I have done recently and that is getting my first tattoo. If you haven't realised by now, I'm a huge Disney fan so my first tattoo was Disney related and I put my for the film Beauty and the Beast into my tattoo. I had it done on my thigh as that was a place that I thought wasn't going to hurt too much. I also didn't have a typical Beauty and the Beast quote as part of my tattoo which makes it unique and I absolutely love it. As far as upcoming events go, this is what I have planned for next month as well as a good few months down the line and I will be writing about them all when they have happened:
Me and my fiancé Ben went to Comic Con in Birmingham again this year and its got to have been the best one we've been to so far. I dressed up as Isabelle Lightwood from Shadowhunters which is a TV show on Netflix and he dressed up in a Spider-Man morphsuit. He had more attention than me from children there purely because of who he was dressed up as. We saw a memoriam board for Stan Lee and we decided to write our own messages on the board like everyone else. I got to see my friend Mark again and he was dressed up as Jareth the Goblin King from Labyrinth. My fiancé Ben had his picture taken with people dressed as Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, Arthur Morgan from the Red Dead Redemption 2 game and a couple of Predators. I also had my picture taken with a couple of people dressed as Duke Devlin and Seto Kaiba from my favourite Anime TV show YuGiOh. I got to meet Chai Hansen from Shadowhunters which is the show that I know him from the best and got a signed Shadowhunters photo from him and the bonus was that he knew who I was dressed as from Shadowhunters, he's also in a new Netflix show called The New Legends of Monkey and he was also in The 100. I also booked the photo session with him where I had one photo with him that I could take home and he remembered me from when I met him earlier in the day to get a signed photo from him. He is one of the most down to earth celebrity guests they have had there and he really made time for the people that went to meet him and get a signed photo from him. I cant wait to see what the March Comic Con is gonna be like next year.
Everything that I've mentioned here is from when I've been to Florida recently from my visit this year with my family but I know that there are going to be some changes in the parks such as new rides and new shows so if you read this and you end up seeing some of the new things in the parks when you next go, let me know in the comments what you think of the new stuff that will be there as well as the ones I've mentioned.
There's not really much I can say in this post compared to what I've mentioned in a previous post about tips and advice for the Disney parks. As you probably already know, Universal Studios Orlando has expanded into 3 parks now instead of 2. When me and my family have been in the past before the third park was put in place we've always done Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure in that park, so when we went this time we did the same thing as we've always done due to the fact that the new Volcano Bay waterpark there looks like it's for families with slightly older children compared to my two nieces ages who are 5 and 2 but they were only 4 and nearly 2 years old when we went.
The first thing you would want to do when it comes to getting the tickets is compare the price of the tickets over here in the UK if you bought them over here before you go and then check how much they would be if you bought them over there. We got ours from over there this time at the official Visit Orlando tourist shop as it was cheaper. The next thing would be to look into possibly getting the Express tickets which is like a fastpass for Universal Studios but only some rides have it. To know which rides have an Express queue you can look on the map. Also look on the map for rides that do single riders as that can help you to get on the rides a lot quicker. If you're going with young children the parks have height charts to see what rides they are tall enough to go on. This caused a bit of a problem for me and my family when we've been with my young nieces. When my oldest niece was nearly 1 years old we tried taking her on the ET ride they said she wasn't tall enough to the handlebars and yet she was able to go on some of the Dr Seuss rides. When we went earlier this year, my youngest niece who was a little older than what my oldest niece was the last time we went which was in 2015 was able to go on the ET ride but only a couple of the Dr Seuss rides which didn't make sense to us and it was unfair on my youngest niece as she ended up spending a fair bit of time in the pushchair due to the fact that there wasn't much for her to do. I'd recommend buying a refillable cup in the park and keep getting it filled up while you are in the parks from the stands that sell them as you are not allowed to take a cool bag with your own drinks in. Last but not least, there are a quite a few restaurants in the two main parks as well. The ones I would recommend are Circus McGurkus Café Stoo-Pendous in Seuss Landing, The Three Broomsticks in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the Islands of Adventure park and Richter's Burger Co. in San Francisco in the Universal Studios park. Hope this was helpful |
